The new HP E5000 messaging solution brings HP’s Converged Infrastructure to the masses.

Craig Paul" />The HP E5000 MESSAGING SYSTEM for Exchange was jointly engineered by HP and  to address the issue of increasingly complex business messaging environments.

In line with HP’s Converged Infrastructure blueprint, the homogeneous solution removes excess  equipment that has sprawled across IT environments so that it can focus on innovation rather than operation. “How much is IT actually helping business if only around 30% of spend is allocated to  research and development or innovation?” asks Craig Paul , business development manager at HP’s  Storage-Works Division. “The paradigm needs to be shifted to provide at least 70% allocation for spend.”

HP and have jointly engineered the HP E5000 Messaging System for Exchange, which includes a seamless integration of hardware, software and management to provide much faster  deployment with lower total cost of ownership.

The solution is available in three pre-confi gured packages sized for customers requiring from 500 to 3  000 mailboxes and is scalable to larger user deployments through easy to deploy expansion units. “Built specifically for Exchange 2010, the HP E5000 is a turnkey solution that can be deployed, scaled and upgraded in hours as opposed to days, delivering best-in-class messaging platform for organisations of all sizes,” says Paul.

“This is only the first collaboration project between HP and ,” says Paul. “There are several  more coming in future.”

CUSTOMER BENEFITS INCLUDE:
  • Simplified scoping and project planning with pre-sized configurations that enable large, low-cost mailboxes and eliminate 90% of the design complexity, simplifying over 30 components down to 1.
  • Rapid deployment and optimised performance through best practice configuration wizards that  eliminate 87% of the confi guration steps for Exchange 2010, providing user access in hours  versus days or weeks.
  • Greater effi ciency with a converged design that reduces data centre footprint up to 25% and uses  50% fewer power and cooling components versus traditional clustered confi gurations.
  • Improved remote site management as the E5000 is ready to be managed by existing customer tools such as System Centre and HP Systems Insight Manager and HP iLO.
  • Enhanced scalability by easily adding storage capacity to increase mailbox size or deploying  parallel systems to expand user count. Previously this would require re-scoping the entire deployment or over-provisioning the initial installation. Now customers can incrementally pay as they grow with 90% less design complexity.
  • Peace of mind with one stop for support and three year, 24/7 coverage for the complete solution,  including hardware and software.
