XON expands into Namibia, Kenya

Carel CoetzeeCarel Coetzee

XON, a BBBEE ICT solutions business, has expanded its direct footprint into Namibia and Kenya.

XON maintains its head office in Johannesburg, with regional head offices in Durban and Cape Town, and sales and support offices in every province of SA. Its Namibian and Kenyan operations are located in the respective capitals.

“The direct footprint in Namibia and Kenya capitalises on the success we’ve experienced in the telecommunications service provider space in those countries where deregulated telecommunications and massive international bandwidth upgrades have created a fiercely competitive and progressive environment,” says Carel Coetzee, CEO of XON.

The Namibian office also serves Angola. Telecommunications infrastructure in Namibia and Angola has benefited enormously from the West African Cable System (WACS). WACS is a 5.12Tbps cable stretching 14 000km in length from SA to the UK, with landing points in 14 countries, including Angola and Namibia. XON supplies, implements and maintains IP and transmission networks and security infrastructure solutions for large enterprises and telecommunications service providers, among others. XON grew its Juniper Networks-based business 73% year-on-year by December 2011.
