PLACEMENT FIRM Manpower South Africa has warned that it could be short-sighted to urge employees to take early retirement during the recession. The company said retiring older workers left skills gaps, and companies would have to use valuable resources to train new workers once the recession ended. It added that many employees would prefer to keep working beyond retirement age.
