More global collaboration is needed to improve the global information security landscape, said Gabi Reish, head of product management at Check Point Software Technologies.
He said the IT security industry could learn from the medical fraternity, and the way it had collaborated to contain the H1N1 virus.
In the IT industry, organisations are reluctant to share information about security breaches, Reish said. While attacks had become co-ordinated, the information security sector had been slow to collaborate in response.
