More song choices are to become available on South Africa’s Metrorail mobile app and Web site, thanks to local start-up KasiMP3 partnering with makers of the train service’s online tool. Metrorail’s mobile application and Web site, developed by start-up GoMetro, provides commuters with information on real-time train schedules, train fares, timetable deviations, schedule and platform changes. – ITWeb Africa

Two South African ICT innovators have been included in the 10 finalists for the Innovation Prize for Africa (IPA). The entities, Medical Diagnostech and Mobenzi, are among four local companies included in the top 10 shortlist. The other two are not ICT firms.
