Government’s, thus far, unsuccessful attempt at introducing e-tolling in Gauteng has taught us several lessons.

I recall, as a very young child, my pride in knowing my uncle Jannie was working as an electrician wiring the new lights on the Ben Schoeman Highway, back in the ‘60s.

Some things, once seen, can never be unseen. Similarly, some things – well, everything, really – once tweeted, cannot be untweeted. That’s what I love about Twitter. Once it’s out there, it’s out there, and often the resultant attempts at damage limitation that follow a twitter gaffe make for great entertainment.

The security risks that come with the proliferation of mobile devices, such as tablets, smartphones and laptops, are well documented. In fact, I would say better than well… More like discussed, deliberated and documented ad nauseam… but I digress…
